For the sake of keeping the suspense going just a little bit longer, I need to send out a round of thanks. .
Thank you all for liking, tweeting, retweeting, following, sharing and answering the survey. Let’s do it again in the future. I kind of like this giveaway thing…
And the winner of the giveaway is… *hops off to Rafflecopter to verify*
Annemarie /// http://www.inkedbrownies.comΒ
Congrats & I’ll be in touch for details! π
Here are some giveaway stats for you all:
11 (eleven) unique people entered the giveaway (not a massive amount I know, but not bad for my first giveaway I guess!). As you can realize by now the following survey results are based on answers from 11 people. There were entries from America, UK, Mainland Europe and Pakistan! How awesome is that? π 9 people out of 11 entered the giveaway with optional extra points as well. All in all, I think it was quite good, nay?
Again, congrats to the winner and I’ll put my thinking hat on for a future giveaway so stay tuned! π

And here, dear people, are the reading habits of bookworms.. or simply put, the results of the survey.
The TOP 3 of best book genre was:
- Thriller, followed by 2. Fantasy, followed by 3. Other (I wonder what this Other is as I thought I had all the basics covered) π
When choosing a new book to read, the decision is based:
Mostly on the blurb
Readers’ favorite books are unforgettable because of:
Characters
Most annoying quality peeve:
Poor grammar/sentence structure/wording
Most annoying style peeve:
Unlikeable protagonist
Supernatural or realistic?
Supernatural, but just about!
Prefer to be left guessing or be given graphic detail?
Depends!
Zombies versus Vampires?
Vampires by a long mile…
Futuristic versus Historical?
Historical won this comfortably.
The perfect book review has:
An analysis of the cover, storyline, characters and place&time, with a re-telling/summary of book in reviewers own words as a close second. Interestingly enough GIFs only scored one vote in this fight.
*Pees a little in excitement*.
“And here, dear people, are the reading habits of bookworms.. or simply put, the results of the survey” :’D
Fascinating results. You’d think people would be done with vampires by now, but then again, imagine a zombie love story. Yuck. Did you have Historical Fiction amongst the genres? If not, I might’ve ticked the Other box for that :D. Thank you again! I can’t wait to show off the tote bag to everyone while walking outside. Might keep the Dutch chavs (who always seem to think I’m one of them just because I own a bulldog) from approaching me ^^. Plus I’m in love with the other swag as well β€

A-ha! Historical fiction! Can’t believe I didn’t add that into the mix! Sheesh, hindsight is 20/20…
LOL @ Dutch swags! π Do they walk around with the socks over their pants like they do in Ireland?

Hahaha π I don’t think it’s in any of the main genres anyways, so I think you were defo thorough enough. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Kids Look at the top pic on the right there. No socks, but *shudders*

hahahahahaha π Holy shite at New Kids… the mullets, man! π to think that in olden days they were considered hawt! π hahahaha

Apparently, some people still think mullets are hot :D. *cough* some Germans *cough, cough* but yeah, this is pretty much what our version looks like ^^

I just don’t know why these people have to have a bulldog? I mean, I thought they were a symbol of sophistication, with Winston Churchill being a proud bulldog owner and all. I mean, that’s why I bought one in the first place! (no, not really, I just like the way they crack me up with everything they do while being lazy as fuck xD)

π these people have to have a bulldog exactly why you explained- they trying to look sophisticated without any real sophistication to back it up! π
I don’t think I’ve ever actually met a bulldog in real life. Like ever… plenty of boxers and great danes and dobermans and list goes on, but never a bulldog… strange!

Hahaha, that’s a BRILLIANT theory! Maybe they think the mullet also adds to that delusion :D.I guess that means you’re just hanging with the wrong kind of crowd ;). Or at least not with the wannabe sophisticated or the world’s greatest leaders! Or Adam Sandler. And since I don’t match with any of those people last time I checked (please god, don’t let me secretly be Adam Sandler all this time): me, because I live too far away from you!

That was a fun giveaway with interesting results. I’m glad we voted for analysis as good reviews. Congrats to Anne, she is my twin site buddy. ( Our sites have very similar looks).

Thanks for the feedback- I must definitely do something similar in the future π
Also good to see the feedback in terms of survey results… it was definitely eye-opening… I nearly thought GIFs would come out as a winner as most Goodreads popular reviewers go crazy with all the images… But there we go π 11 people is a considerable amount to trust! π
Yes, I am guessing you both, Amanda and Anne, have a sweet tooth?! π

Yes definitely! I like gifs in reviews, but they are an added extra, not the bulk of enjoyment. I’m glad others agree with that…..or I would need to up my gifs! π

Yes, really well chosen gifs can really pack a punch… having said that I just don’t have time to find the right ones π
But that’s ok- we can be different, we can be gifless… different and gifless is awesome too! π

Congrats on the survey and giveaway.
Thrillers. Yay. (Guess what I’ve been focusing on…)

Is it yay as in Yay, I’m happy or yay heavily dripping with sarcasm? π I just don’t know with you! π
I’m thinking it’s the good yay π I hope the writing is going well… Can’t wait to start shoving your new book into everyone’s face! π

It’s a good yay. I could have added a smiley, but smileys sometimes have sarcastic smirks. π See?
Although 11 is only a small sample size, I’m also glad readers thought characters are what makes for unforgettable books. (We pick books and movies based on genre, but that’s like picking our friends or partners based on their job. Often the books or movies we enjoy most aren’t ones we’d ever have picked.)
I didn’t participate in your survey because I didn’t want to skew the results.

Good yay is good π I was hoping that…
Yes, and it’s kind of logical then that unforgettable books are because of characters and the fact that the most annoying style peeve is an unlikeable protagonist… there’s always more aspects to books of course and the tastes of readers vary wall to wall…
Do you really think your answers would have skewed the results? π

How close were the results?

Actually the only really close fight (at a 5% difference) was in between “Supernatural or Realistic” .. There was no close calls with anything else.
