I was nominated by The Bookie Monsters for this tag – THANK YOU!- and since I am currently in between books, I thought why not… The tag was created by Read Like Wildfire.
A character’s appearance you misread or imagined differently
Probably all of them because I never imagine a face on the characters I read about so if they appear in a movie, I’m like- ah, yes, that actor/actress suits the character, or not. I don’t spend a lot of time visualising character’s appearance while reading to be honest. I just don’t care what they look like or if they have sparkling green/violet/baby blue eyes or a ton of muscles or a hefty shelf because these details don’t make a story for me. It’s the personalities and the quirks that decide the next steps in a book
A character name you’ve been pronouncing differently
I don’t actually know… Can’t think of one… But generally, I think I make all the character names from fantasy books sound what they’re not supposed to sound like…
An overused trope that is your guilty pleasure
The ‘tortured’ hero… The hero or heroine that does the good and ‘saves the world and frees the Willy’ while at the same time fighting with their personal demons. It’s the bits where they find themselves squirming in between decisions that always makes me feel alive. I admit, I yell at characters sometimes to grow a pair and focus! It’s fantastic!
A cliched character type you enjoy viewing on screen than reading about
The religious folk who are supposed to be holy incarnate but are actually corrupted and evil. They’re wolves in sheepskins and generally in shows or movies they look rather unflattering as well. Fitting!
A word/phrase you learned because of its use in a book
There’s been quite a few good phrases I’ve come across… A few for example:
- “Save your breath for a blow up doll”
- “Seriously, is your ass jealous of the shit that comes out of your mouth?”
- … have I learned a nice, decent, sophisticated word? Probably, but I only remember the naughty ones…
Have you ever not read or completed a required reading for school?
Pffft… it’s been 9 years since I last had anything to do with school, really… and probably 11 years since I had a list of required reading… my, time flies! But no, goody me, always read everything and then some.
Have you ever (or wanted to) skipped a chapter from the POV of a character you weren’t interested in?
I think if I was tempted to skip a whole POV chapter, I’d rather not continue reading at all.. What’s the point, eh?!
Have you ever cancelled social plans to read a book?
Of course. No shame about it either.
TAG, YOU’RE IT!
Thanks for doing the tag! I thought your answers were great 😊

You gotta admit, it does help a little sometimes to read about muscles ;).But yeah, the personalities are way more important! 🙂 As for the pronouncing part, you’re not alone when it comes to Fantasy XD. Apart from myself, I’ve listened to some narrations of The Game Of Thrones books and the guy kept pronouncing Brienne as BRIYEENE. Even I was like, this can’t be right?? And it wasn’t.
“Save your breath for a blow up doll” :’) I loved reading this!

You know, I came across a pic one day of a half naked Scot wearing a kilt and he was all muscles and I thought about you straight away! 😀

😀 No… I just thought- Anne would love this as much as I am loving this… and then before I got to share it to your FB page my hubby came around and I had to slam the laptop shut so I wouldn’t get caught taking sneaky looks at droolable men! hahaha

LOL! That tends to happen here sometimes as well ;). Slamming that laptop shut in time is the key to a better marriage, really ;D
