When gods and monsters battle, her music will not protect her…
The Crescent Atoll is a remote string of tropical islands, connected by long canoe journeys and a love of stories.
When Kaimana, a young ocarina player, discovers the lair of a taniwha – a legendary monster – she finds herself inspired. The song she is composing about their encounter will be her masterpiece, but her disturbance of the beast attracts the ruining gaze of the god of war. She must convince the taniwha to trust her if they are both to survive.
Where the Waters Turn Black is a standalone novel from Benedict Patrick’s Yarnsworld series. Inspired by the myths and legends of South Pacific island cultures, this book is perfect for those seeking fantasy stories with a hint of the unfamiliar.
Where the Waters Turn Black will be released in November 2016. Head HERE to be notified when it is released, and to get some exclusive Yarnsworld stories.

Where The Waters Turns Black is the second novel by Benedict Patrick and I simply cannot wait to read this book. Benedict’s first book- They Mostly Come Out At Night was absolutely brilliant and I do recommend you check out the Yarnsworld novels for imaginative and fantastic reading experience.
My review for–> They Mostly Come Out At Night by Benedict Patrick
Cool cover. 😀 Ha, when I read ocarina it immediately made me think of the classic game The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time on the N64, damn my geekiness! 😂

Motorway, quality! 🙂 🙂 I haven’t read ‘ocarina’ often, it may be used a lot in books but not that I have read and when I read it the first thing that came to mind was Zelda! 🙂

🙂 I took a look at the game graphic images… the gaming has come a long way.. I am mesmerised by some games my mister plays… like SSX I think it’s called, a snowboarding game, I could just sit and watch him playing all day long, and there’s good tunes, even tho not metal 🙂
Anyway, I feel educated… 😀 I better do more extracurricular reading on ‘ocarino’ 🙂

I think the only games I remember mentioned when I was like … smaller… and younger… well somewhere in the 90s, was Donkey Kong or something like that? I remember my schoolmates being mad for it…
and Pacman was like a huge hit back then as well… chomp-chomp-chomp…

I remember Donkey Kong and Mario, though, I preferred more violent games! 🙂

Hmmhhh, I wonder how come I never got into gaming… I went from a tame child to a boozing teenager, no time I guess 😀
I tried to play something on PS3 the other day and the control is just… too much for me 😀 too many buttons and all their functions going over my head!

Tame child to boozing teenager, quality description! 😂 Gaming isn’t for everyone just like reading, there’s actually people out there who don’t like reading! 😂

Yeah, I’m one of those gaming isn’t for… and you’re right, my mister is one of those people who has only read 2 books in his 39 years of life… Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and the bloody 12 step book from AA! 😀 He hates reading though… but that’s what makes us unique… we’re all with different abilities 🙂 I wish I loved gaming tho, the world in games and some times even gamers are like mysteriously cool through my eyes… oh well 🙂

The world’s in games definitely can be cool, The Witcher for example is awesome. 😀

Just means you put your time into wiser things than games ;). He is! Ate a lot of cat poo during our walk so I’m terrified he’s going to barf it out in the house soon now…

Hahaha 😂 I hope he keeps it down! Or gets rid of the poo when out for a pee break 😂

The cover is absolutely gorgeous! And I do judge books by their covers so I would totally read this series based on the artwork alone.

Both of the covers are stellar! I will have to check this author out. I really like stories based on legends. Thanks for sharing your review. 🙂

Both are beautiful covers and I say #coverlove for both of them! Yay!
I think I own They Mostly Come Out At Night just bc of the cover. I’m so shallow. Haven’t read it yet and haven’t even heard of the second one! I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for the heads-up.
