Many thanks to the fabulous Donna @ Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles for nominating me for this award. I feel super speshul! 🙂 ❤ Make sure you give Donna’s blog a visit and a follow if you do not already follow her (I’d be surprised if you already didn’t, she has some presence!)… I guarantee you, her reviews are top notch quality and you do not want to miss out on them!
The Mystery Blogger Award Tag was created by Okoto Enigma.
Since I don’t have any immediate book reviews upcoming as I am currently in the middle of a beta read, an award post is just what Doctor Bookish ordered. Also, it gives you a reason to visit my blog… otherwise there’ll be tumbleweed rolling around here!
Here are the rules!
- Put the award logo/image in your post. √
- List all the rules. √
- Thank whoever nominated you and leave a link to their blog. √
- Link back to the creator of the award. √
- Tell your readers 3 things about yourself. √
- Answer the 5 questions. √
- Share the link to your best/favourite post of yours. √
- Ask nominees any 5 questions of your choice, with a weird or funny question. √
- Nominate 10-20 people and notify them. √
Here we go!
3 things about me:
〉〉〉 I’m 5ft3 (163cm) and 99lbs (45kg).
〉〉〉 Everybody always thought I was going to be a famous singer by the time I reached adulthood. They were wrong. Stage fright won.
〉〉〉 While I love my job, I hate working in an office. I would much rather spend my days outdoors. I don’t know- chopping wood, picking berries, mowing the lawn, raking leaves, etc.
The Q&A
#1 Which fingers of your right hand is your favorite?
Really, Donna? XD I love this question for some many reasons and if you know me well enough, you know how I’m going to answer this question! By far the most attractive finger on my right hand is the middle finger. Before you judge- I don’t use it often, especially now that I am considered an adult (ahem) but you see… I normally hide my hands in public. They’re always in pockets, or up in my sleeves. I don’t know, showing hands makes me feel naked. So, when a postman comes and I have to sign for things I always give ’em the stinkeye to say: Stop staring while I drop my signature here… Very odd, I know… So the only times I have actually flaunted my hands in front of anyone (and by anyone I mean major eejits who like to make other peoples’ lives miserable) is when I’ve flipped the bird! Unashamed!
#2 You have 5% of battery left on your phone and on your Kindle, only one electric plug and 30 minutes to use it before you are stuck for hours with no electricity. Which device do you charge?
Without a shadow of a doubt, the Kindle will get plugged. I have zero attachment to my phones. Yes, I have 2… No, I’m not a dealer. But normally, when there’s no electricity (and it happens sometimes in stormy Ireland), I don’t even read because I usually either play Scrabble with my husband, eat tons of chocolate or take a drive to the beach because no electricity = storm = BIG waves and I love big waves!
#3 Have you congratulated yourself this week for anything at all? If the answer is no, find something, anything you did, and congratulate yourself, you deserve it.
I actually did congratulate myself this week! What a good timing for this question! I had to visit a local IT college and do a presentation about the company I work for to the final year students as we’re looking to hire. I hadn’t been in front of a crowd for yonks! So, I was very nervous… plus the aforementioned stage fright that ruined my musician career XD … but… I think I detached or something? And I ended up having a great time with the classroom full of lads… I guess my natural charm and humor helped as well because I did get quite a few laughs out of them, they were engaged and asked a ton of questions! So, I felt totally empowered by this experience.
#4 Salty and sugary snacks?
Oh… both! All the time! My mother sends me monthly chocolate packages from Estonia and I just eat a lot of sweets… well… I do limit myself- ration, even. But I love the salty snacks equally! I love food generally so … just hand it to me, and consider it eaten!
#5 What’s your favorite tree?
My favorite tree… hang on- how awesome is this question, even? XD OK.. my favorite tree… in what context? Visually? In terms of practicality? Or … ?
My first response is to go with a practical tree, a useful tree- picea abies, the Norway spruce. You see, should you ever get lost in the woods in spring time and the spruce is just getting those light green thorns/shoots on the tips of brances? Yeah, you can eat/chew on those for vitamins plus they have other health benefits (Google it if you’re interested!)
Now that I think of it, I would probably choose spruce as a visually appealing tree as well.. after all, we do bring them to our homes at xmas and my, do they smell nice!
My best/favorite blog post
My best blog post in terms of views of all time I’ve been doing this ‘ere thing is a review of Breathe by Layden Robinson.
My favorite post? Oh… I know! Pron* Extraordinaire … that short story, my review… the challenge… it was a one off thing, I swear! I did have tons of fun writing the review… but to every other review I’ve ever written: I love you, I respect you… Pron* Extraordinaire means nothing! XD
My 5 Questions to Nominees:
Q1: When you’re not working/studying, reading and blogging, what other stuff do you get up to on your free time? (Hah, a roundabout way to ask you about your other hobbies!)
Q2: What, in your opinion, is the most boring sports to watch? Like, you’d rather watch paint dry than follow a match/session of…?
Q3: The most memorable moment from a train/bus journey?
Q4: You wake up in the morning, important day ahead. You look into the mirror and discover you have a big red spot on your face. What do you do? A: Call in sick B: Use triple layer of make up to cover up C: Feck it, everyone has spots, I’ll just forget that it’s there!
Q5: If you could change one thing about book blogging/reviewing, what would it be?
… and the questions go to the following nominees:

You’re welcome, and don’t feel obligated or under pressure! 🙂 If you feel like doing it in the future, great. If not, no worries! 🙂
Hahaha… you’re a sweet tooth as well? Heh, who isn’t, I guess?

Much like you I enjoy sweet or salty snacks 👌i’m just greedy haha. Go to the gym a fair bit so I can eat what I want. Otherwise the pic I put on twitter a few days back would look drastically different 😂

I’m actually having an odd problem… I am trying to gain weight… since I started the office job some years ago I haven’t been that active (I used to work out a lot: soccer, running, etc) so now I think becuse my muscles have dimisnished I have just shrivelled up altogether and it sucks… people look at me and think I’m a drug addict, you know? So, I’m trying to have a different diet plus more workout to look like a human again…

Yay, thank you so much for the tag! I have done this one, but I like re-doing it because yo get new questions each time!! I would plug in my phone, but only because I have my Kindle app on it and it means I could still look at Bookstagram lol! 😛

You’re welcome! 🙂 That is the best thing about these types of awards, the questions are different each time 🙂 Have fun answering and I look forward to reading them 🙂
Hehehe…damn right- priorities to Kindle app! I used to have Kindle app on my phone as well… but then I got a tablet that’s always with me, so my phones have pretty much lost their usefulness to me XD

That’s fair enough! I don’t have a tablet, just a kindle so I can’t do much else on that 😋

You know… I was thinking about it while washing dishes… (hahaha)… but essentially, a phone works better… it’s smaller and fits in your pocket… so is more usable in that sense… anyway… had to get that off my chest! XD

Man, those were some random ass questions!! 😂😂🤣
You’re only 99 lbs?? You’re just a slip of a thing, aren’t you? I will totally share my extra! 🤣

LOL.. random ass Q for the win! XD
Yeah… I could totally use some extra meat on my bones… was just telling Aaron above in the comments that I’m working on gaining some weight… people give me pitying looks… I’m not all bones and elbows, but I am rather small.. and that makes me FEEL small around people, too, not physically, but mentally as well..anyway… I guess part of it is the smoking as well… I am planning to quit any day now (as soon as the packet runs out) , shall see how that goes! XD
LikeLiked by 1 person
Nah…it can’t be the smoking or I’d be a fetus!
You don’t need to worry: you’re 5’3″. My sister is that tall and I think she’s 120.
Don’t you ever feel small! You’re the biggest personality I know on social media!!

LOL… phew… crisis averted… but yeah, I just get those pitying looks from people… I can’t help it that I eat like a pig and it doesn’t show anywhere!
Aww, thank you! That is so nice of you to say that… ❤

How nice, we both posted this award on the same day after being tagged by Donna. She gave good questions didn’t she. I love your questions too, I hope our tagged will do the post too. It is good to know more about the bloggers we interact with online.
Good answer on ‘your middle finger’! 😉
I will be intrigued as to what people answer on the ‘what would you change about book blogging / reviewing’. I love the community, I’m not sure what I would change, as I just put into it what suits me, and I generally get back from it the same. Good question.
Amanda.

Donna’s Qs really were good! 🙂 hehehe… my middle finger answer seems to be popular XD
I think you have a really good standing point on the blogging community… give what you get and vice versa! I am very interested as well though what people asnwer to this… I know it’s a tough question as well, but who knows.. someone might have some interesting viewpoints! 🙂 Thanks for checking my post out!

My God you’re smaller than me (ok the full 3 cms) and you weigh nothing ! I was happy with my weight (around 51 kg) but you.. I want to be you! Although, no thank you for speaking in front of a class! Congratulations that you were brave enough to talk to a class full of adolecents! Great answers and very interesting questions too! Thanks for the nomination as well. I’ve already done this tag so I’m putting it on my tag list!

Hahahahaha… I didn’t know you were miniature as well! XD That is cool… oh, don’t want to be me… 51KGs sounds a perfect weight to be in… if I didn’t have muscles at all, I’d be a freaking stickfigure and it’s not very attractive… plus… eh… (I’ll just come out with it)- boobs! I mean, gosh, there’s only so much tissue one can go through during a week! XD XD XD 😀 Just kidding, but generally… yeah!
Thank you for checking out this post and who knows… maybe in the future you’ll feel like answering my questions! 🙂 ❤

😂 too much info 😉 we’re not going to compare now ;-). But people here are just this small – or big – if you want. I know lots of guys too who are not even 180 cm. Maybe you should move here and you won’t feel so small. The weather’s the same anyway I think 😉

hahahaha… TMI is right, but I knew I could get a laugh out of you with that comment!
Yeah… gosh, the weather is a real bummer… I’m dreaming of winning the lottery, or just working double hard to get rich and buy a farmhouse in Spain and grow fruit trees and enjoy the sunny life! 🙂

You and me are both dreaming of the same thing, living somewhere warm and sunny! I don’t speak Spanish though so maybe I’d have to go for Sint-Maarten, a little bit further away 🙂

Yay for crazy questions, Donna nominated me too, that means two lots of crazy questions for me to answer!😂
I knew it Lizzy, I knew it and even said to Donna in the comments on her tag that me and you would both choose the same finger as our favourite right finger, the middle one and it’s most awesome of use!😂

What?? Fingers are important :p I totally knew you’d go for the middle finger but I wanted to know what you’d come up with, haha!
Yay for congratulating you! I’m proud! Keep doing it!! You rock girl! I’m so happy this experience turned out fantastic!

Aw, you’re tiny too… that’s awesome! I feel so much better now that there are more bloggers who are actually my size as well, I don’t feel so bad about myself now! XD
I loved the tree question most… they were all good Qs, but I have a special love for all things nature and if you’re ever stuck in a forest, you can skype me and I’ll tell you what roots you can eat… but then again, if you can skype me, you can also call for help! XD

Hahaha! I love both the list of questions from Donna *and* your answers. Way to take this super seriously, Liis! Personally, I just stared at my right hand for far too long. My coworkers now think I’m extra weird. Go figure. I also appreciate your questions. #5 is my favorite! That is a bit of a doozy. 😉

Ugh, stage fright! I had it bad until I was 35 and then I was all hot on the trail of starting a new band and I got pregnant; story over. There is still hope I am telling you. You start getting to the point in your life where you don’t give a freck, especially if you are just playing for fun and not trying to “make it”. That is why I went to the tech side for most if my biz years, doing lights/sound. It was all of the rock n’ roll fun, without the stage fright. Do you have a group of friends you can jam with? That is what helped me at the end. Do Hardcore Punk! I was in a Punk band for a few months and I loved it. It was so raw that if you made a “mistake” (there are no mistakes in Punk) no one even noticed. I had almost zero stage fright in that band. Do back-up singing for awhile, that is another low profile, confidence booster. You cannot give up on this. 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience and for the positive advice 🙂 I think I am getting better as I’m having to do a lot of presentations in front of people now… I think if I did have as group to jam with I would just LOVE to get back to singing and doing some drumming- I feel like I could actually do it 🙂
But stage fright is the worst.. I recall one time I was so bad I think people actually saw my legs shaking… so, that kind of adds to the fact as well, knowing that people see you’re totally out of it?! Huh… punk sounds great though- I can imagine the fun times!!!
