Hello, hello, horror fans! Today, I would like to show you a fresh cover for an upcoming book… But first, a quick jump back in time…

December, 2023. I had just finished reading a physical ARC of A Crack in the World, and effectively, some would say, sinned against the book. You might say, if the hardcore bookish folk had their way, they’d disown me and sell me to Satan. Reason? I had dog-eared 75% of the book and underlined (with pencil, mind) so many passages that were just *chef’s kiss* Damn, I loved that book…

94178352England, 1994. Villages in Sussex are vanishing into thin air at an alarming rate.

Gino Marcotti – the Gran Maestro Occultist, son of the official occultist of the Fascist Italian Regime – is tasked to investigate by the Royal Paranormal Institute in Greenwich. His investigation takes an unexpected turn when he realises that the Black Metal scene, with its recent homicides and arson attacks on Norwegian churches, is connected to these disappearances.

But he soon discovers that there are bigger and more malevolent forces at play – and the only way to defeat them is to connect with his dead father.

August, 2024. And I am beyond pleased that the sequel is sooooo near to publishing. I mean, we have a cover and the blurb… that means the book is written and it’s going through the final stages. Cannot begin to tell you how much I look forward to this. Early 2025, by the way. For the sequel. This gives everyone ample time to read A Crack in the World *wink.

Here’s what’s heading your way:

The Reckoning JMUSSR, 1941. In the frozen desolation of Siberia, a shaman unleashes an ancient entity from its slumber deep within an abandoned salt mine.

England, 1996. The echoes of that distant ritual reach across time as Meren-Ptah, a foe the RPI Gran Maestro occultist Gino Marcotti once vanquished, returns. With the line between the living and the dead blurred, Gino and Carter Williams must unravel the mystery connecting the past to the present.

What dark force has been awakened, and how can the mistakes of history be undone? When the past and the paranormal collide, only the dead hold the key to saving the living.

…. Have I said I cannot bloody wait?!

But hey… if you’re still just a tad undecided, even though I don’t grasp why you should be (Mordechai’s style is sophisticated!), you can also check out this interesting chat I had a while back with James Mordechai in which you will simultaneously find out everything there is to know about the author whilst still remaining anonymous. 😉

Last but not least – a shout out to cover designer Matt Barnes for both of these eye catching works! I urge you to check out his work on the website, X and Instagram. So dark and gloomy, yet gorgeous.

As above, so below!
