I mean… where does time fly? Seriously, it’s such a clichΓ© but the older I get, the faster life seems to pass. My 2024 was full of work, work, work, then I decided to go to Uni (when I say decided, I was in fact accepted and I started my 3 year stint of studies in information management), the country of Estonia is just an environment of political turbulence with taxes, taxes, more taxes and fear and 24/7 talk of war, and frankly, when I usually await for the new year with hope and dreams, this time around, I would rather go backwards. But… you know what always helps with life#s difficulties? Books! The right answer is, of course, books!

As today is the last day of 2024, it’s time for the My Life in Books 2024 edition. I never found out who created the tag originally, so if someone knows the creator, please let me know so I can credit them. Timy, the Queen of the Book Asylum, funked the prompts up a bit for this year again (we also did the tag in 2023!), and without further waffle, here’s my 2024 in books… feel free to join in! Here is Timy’s 2024 in books!
Motto I lived by in 2024 … By Blood, By Salt (Goodreads)
On my bucket list is … Interview with the Vampire (Goodreads)
A happy day includes … Your Blood, My Bones (Goodreads)
When I’m in a murderous mood I need … Muscle (Goodreads)
People might be surprised by … Dreams of the Dying (Goodreads)
Wish I had … Imago (Goodreads)
I will never be … Master of the Void (Goodreads)
I hate that … When I Look at the Sky, All I See Are Stars (Goodreads)
Celebrating holidays with my family is always … A Hot Dose of Hell (Goodreads)
At a party youβd find me with … Saint the Terrifying (Goodreads)
Iβve never been to … Cold West (Goodreads)
I would go on a quest with … The Stranger of Ul Darak (Goodreads)
I’d end up in an asylum because of … Empire’s Passing (Goodreads)
To help plan my escape from the asylum, I … Temper the Dark (Goodreads)
If I ran a fantasy tavern, it would be called … In the Lair of Legends (Goodreads)
My fantasy job is … The Pariah (Goodreads)
The epitaph on my gravestone would be … Glory to the Waxing Sun (Goodreads)
In my next life, I want to be … Beyond Redemption (Goodreads)
My life in 2024 was like … Sledge vs The Labyrinth (Goodreads)
My theme song for 2025 should be titled … Facing Down the Furies (Goodreads)
And there we have it… another My Life in Books tag marvelously completed with the titles I read in 2024. My average rating for the year ended up at 4.2 (which is 0.2 lower than it was in 2023), and the average book length was 342 pages (it was 284 pages in 2023) so, all in all, I say I had a damned good reading year… and let me tell you… I am starting 2025 with an pretty awesome occult horror book by James Mordechai. It’s so fresh it’s not even on Goodreads yet and it drops in March, 2025! It’s brilliant, I am so excited for it.
I would like to wish YOU the very best for the new year ahead… may it be filled with happy moments, success and glorious wins as much as quiet contemplation, comfortable moments in solitude with yourself and endless energy to keep ploughing through life’s ups and downs!

This is fun!

I truthfully do like that epitaph. π
My average rating was 3.6, so you liked your books more than I liked mine. π
I am still so very happy you chose to go back to school! π€ Now if my son would see things that way. π
I don’t really know what to say about the state of the world right now, but I hope we will all see how much we need each other and join together to fight back against all the greed and hate that has taken over. π
Here’s to a year of hope. π
