Fear erupts in the nation of Gaescea when Seer Mecas returns heralding a cryptic doom, and Kaemen and his fellow warrior-elites, the Wolfhounds, make ready for war.
But Kaemen discovers that the kingdom’s preparations were for naught when he awakes in a realm far more harrowing than the battlefield, for they have crossed over into the Land of the Dead.
Now Kaemen must fight for the salvation of Gaescea, knowing all the while that he is being hunted by damnation.

Praise for After Life
The writing was great, the grammar was good, and thank the gods, there were no typos! You can definitely see that this was professionally edited. There were some deeper philosophical thoughts behind this story as well, which isn’t strange regarding the fact that the author is a philosopher as well. Source

I’ve been through my share of fantasy that was just too obvious or cliché, but After Life is a breath of fresh air in the fantasy genre. And the plot twist!! I never saw that coming! And the way he made it work in a very unique way was refreshing! Source
***
Unexpected, original, dark, oppressive but also full of love, friendship, loyalty and full of twists that no-one can see coming. I also fought against a tear or two… Source

I can’t take much fantasy at a time, but this one sounds very interesting and mixing several things, I hope it finds its audience!

Nah, it’d be unfair when it’ll take me months to get too, just meant if I didn’t have many books to read that I would but as I do I can’t offer and that I hope you find some takers for the copies. Especially not after I just asked for two books from the gollancz press release they sent, two out of the four seems fair! lol

No worries! 🙂
I had put myself on a book buying/requesting ban and here I was, 10 minutes ago, buying another book! god damn it anyway! XD

Ha, it’s even worse when the damn press releases come in the inbox I tell you, must not reply, just ignore, well maybe, damnit, they sound so good, oh well, two out of four from gollancz and I declined the Titan book so, I shall class the two as blogging treats! 🙂

I would normally jump all over this with the mention of horror elements being incorporated, but I am holding myself accountable to my promise not to accept more review copies for now 😉 I buried myself and am just now seeing the light haha. Although your dang review makes it soooo tempting. Looking away.. walking away.. 😛

Yay! It makes me so happy to see a standalone fantasy novel being featured! I am not into the darkness as much as some of you [cough]Danielle*Liis*Drew[cough], but this is still a cool premise for a novel. I hope it is well received!
