musicmonday

Music Monday is a meme started by Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek. The idea is to pick a song that I like and share it with all you lovely folks.

I know I have, to some, established myself as someone who listens to rock and metal, but in reality, my music tastes vary greatly. I am known to listen to trance as well but I usually associate trance with my brother whom I love dearly and should you ever notice me listening/sharing to trance tunes online, you can be sure I am in one of those ‘I miss my brother‘ moods because our ‘trance/beer’ sessions were bliss for me. He’s now all grown up with a family of his own (ha, he’s 10 years older than me) but yeah, we go way back with our ‘let’s get together, drink beer and have a heart-to-heart without actually speaking and making the windows rattle with the volume up‘ sessions.

Anyway! Today I would like to share my quite recently discovered love for dark country. I found some dark country playlists on Youtube and whadda ya know- I actually quite like it! BUT- I only tend to listen to dark country while at work. I guess it helps me focus on the mundane tasks.

This song has been playing on repeat throughout weeks now. There’s just something about it… It’s a bit gloomy, but also upbeat with the whistling… I like his vocals, I like the instrumental- its all just perfection!

Without further blabbering, here’s:

Nik Ammar- The Burnin’

Sitting in a hole, waiting for the train
Too tired to feel this old, too late to start again
I leave my life behind, ruined by my hand
No-one to blame this time, I’m forsaken in this land

And everything is changing
All around it’s blazing
You turned my whole world upside down
With all my heart I’m yearning
But it won’t stop the burning
Now all our love’s burnt to the ground

Under the blazin sun, my heart’s forever charred
My nights go on and on, my days are dark and tarred
With every tear I hide, I drown the memory
But where the fire died it burnt a hole in me

And everything is changing
All around it’s blazing
You turned my whole world upside down
With all my heart I’m yearning
But it won’t stop the burning
Now all our love’s burnt to the ground

Let me know in the comments if you gave this song a try and if you liked it… Dark Country has many cool artists to check out… Blues Saraceno would be another band I listen to quite often as of late so if this sounds like something you could try out and you end up liking it? You’re welcome! ๐Ÿ˜€
