In the early hours of the morning, the naked body of a young man is discovered in a ditch next to Gota Kanal. The cause of death is mysterious; the body bears no visible traces of violence.
The man is soon identified as Peder Akerlund, a former Swedish politician, excluded from his party for racism but since reformed. Then sixteen-year-old Nadja Lundin is reported missing, possibly abducted, the same evening, and there are signs that suggest the two cases might be connected.
But what do the victims have in common? And why were they chosen? Gradually, Malin Fors realises that they are dealing with someone who is playing a game with them, who speaks through murders and who will not be silenced. What is he or she trying to say? Desperate to fine Nadja alive, the team race against the clock to find an answer before it’s too late…
Greetings!
Courtesy of Hodder & Stoughton, I have a little something for dark mystery and crime readers!
From the internationally bestselling author Mons Kallentoft comes a dark and thrilling new Malin Fors mystery. If you love Jo Nesbo and Samuel Bjork, you’ll love Mons Kallentoft.
Malin Fors is a 30-something divorced mother of a teenage daughter, and an ambitious detective inspector, in Linköping, Sweden. The Malin Fors series has a total of 12 books and Earth Storm featured in this post here is up for grabs! Make no mistake- I am not giving away my own copy as I fully intend to read it… I am giving away a second copy I received! 😉
Praise for the Malin Fors series:
‘One of the best-realised female heroines I’ve read by a male writer.’ Guardian
‘Kallentoft’s books have been called beautiful, exquisite and original. I can see why.‘ Literary Review
‘This is a worthy successor to Larsson’s Millennium trilogy.‘ Booklist Starred Review
I would like to thank everyone who entered, shared and checked out the GIVEAWAY… A total of 15 people entered generating 61 entries…
And the winner is Danielle @ Books, Vertigo and Tea
It’s always great to see a detective trying to find a connection between two people who have nothing in common. Sounds like an interesting read!

It’s not a genre that I read often but one I always become immersed in when I do. I find Scandinavians seem to do crime pretty well (as in the writing of it :P) so I’m definitely gonna enter this giveaway!

Good luck! 🙂 ❤ Aye, I think the same- Scandinavians most ceryainly do know their crime… writing 😛 😀 Must tbe the bleak, dark winter months that aid along with this theme, perhaps! 🙂

Seriously there are so many absolutely terrific Scandinavian crime series these days; both in novels as well as on television. This sounds like another terrific one. Really a terrific premise: thanks for hosting this. This is totally awesome 😊
