Game of Thrones Book Tag

I saw this tag on It’s Raining Books and said- hellow! Game of Thrones and books? I’m so in! Because everyone loves Game of Thrones… Right? πŸ™‚

287797761- Arya: A character that’s all about revenge.

Ah, that’s easy- Mia in Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. If ever there is a revenge story, that would be it! I think Mia and Arya are quite similar as well, two young girls who witnessed the death of their fathers, are quite stubborn and have their sights set on the task. They’re both also full of spunk and have no fear…

251557472- Varys: A book featuringΒ political intrigue.

Kings or Pawns by J.J. Sherwood. Plenty of political intrigue in this adult fantasy book. I will be taking part in the Kings or Pawns Book Tour in a few days with a megapost so keep your eyes peeled for it.. there’s a review, character AND author interview and maybe one more surprise πŸ™‚

3- Joffrey: A villain you just love to hate.

Hmm… I generally don’t hate villains… Because they always add so much ‘life’ (or death) to any story. What would a book be without a super-annoying villain? Yes, I’m having a serious trouble finding an example so I’ll need to skip this one. Oopsie!

288175064- Jon Snow: A coming of age story.

Becoming Phoebe by J. Michael Neal. It was a really interesting story of a girl who wanted to play hockey and play it in the high league. She had a lot of personal struggles but she was also very set on what she wanted to achieve and even tho she was somewhat emotionally broken she was a role model to her team. I would recommend this book to everyone.

286464205- Jaime & Cersei: A ship you just can’t get behind.

I really wouldn’t know the answer to this one if I hadn’t recently read Trailer Park Virgin. It’s a bloomin threeway and it’s a megaship I can’t get behind. And, anyway, since when are we calling couples ships? What’s the story with that? I’m starting to feel really old with this ‘new language’… or have I been living under a rock? πŸ™‚ FYI- if you’re under 18, you’re not allowed to touch this book, not even with a 10 foot pole!

deny friendship

6- Lady Olenna: AΒ kickassΒ older character.

Lorna Hardy from Deny Friendship by RG Manse. That lady- I want to be her when I reach her age. She was nosy (which by the way, gave her an upper hand in most situations), fair and had a really cool relationship with her husband. Plenty of sass and just plain loveable.

279847047- Dany: A book featuring dragons.

The Dragon’s Blade by Michael R. Miller. In this book the dragons are the way I like them, walking on two feet like humans after the great Transformation. This was a really cool fantasy story with magic, dragons, royalty being reborn…

screw friendship

8- Sansa: A character you grew to love.

While I like many characters I’ve come across, there is one character, one man that will probably always stand above the others. And that’s Frank Friendship, the MC from the Frank Friendship series by RG Manse. I have never come across a character quite like him. He made me laugh and cringe and shake my head. He is unique and I know I’ll never be bored by him.

2991128519- Melisandre: A favourite magic system.

The magic that was portrayed in Hollo: The Gatecaster’s Apprentice by Devon Michael was downright cute. There was weaving with strings and.. my, it all just read off the page so well that I was afraid I was going to be sucked into that very magical setting.

2974393310- Tyrion: A character whose weapon is their mind.

Lonan in They Mostly Come Out At Nighty by Patrick Benedict. Lonan’s mind was what kept him going through the hardships that he faces in his village. Even though people blame him of something he really can’t be accused of, Lonan just plows on with his life and eventually his mind is which will turn his life around. A very good book, do read it!

This is it, folks. I hope you found some books here to add to your ever growing TBR pile. I hope you enjoyed this little tag and… you’re it! πŸ™‚

  1. I love this tag! Games of Thrones is awesome! I’m really digging Nevernight. I’m only 40% into it. Drew is actually beating me. I better crack down and start reading more. πŸ™‚ Ha! That trailer park book was so bad. I read a few chapters and I give you credit for being about to knuckle through that one. I had to see for myself and it was free on Amazon, so I figured why not. I never thought I’d say a smut book was too much for me. There’s a first time for everything I guess. πŸ˜‚

    • I’m glad you’re enjoying Nevernight πŸ™‚ Can’t wait for your raving review πŸ™‚
Yes, the trailer park book… eh, I was at work when I was reading it (lunch hour of course) so I wasn’t probably fully fully immersed in it, what with keeping an eye on emails and a few skype calls here and there, but thanks- I powered through it and you’re right, for smut- it bloody is too much! XD I saw and I conquered… I can now leave it behind me and never get into those challenges by Eddie on Goodreads again! XD

      • Thanks! Oh, no! You read that book at work? Haha! Were you looking over your shoulder, nervous someone would see what you were reading? πŸ˜‚ That would’ve been pretty funny. Ha! No more challenges on Goodreads. I once tried to read a book about a girl who’s half dolphin and has to cover her blowhole with baggy clothes as a dare. I couldn’t do it. The book was awful and my friend who dared me couldn’t do it either. πŸ˜‚

        • A half dolphin-girl trying to cover the blowhole? What the actual…? πŸ˜€ wow, there really is some interesting stuff out there, hey!

But yeah, read the virgin story on the phone’s kindle app… I was still paranoid that one of the lads was going to cop what I was doing… but luckily, I wasn’t found out πŸ™‚

  2. Awesome tag! Can’t wait to see you featured on the Kings or Pawns Book Tour πŸ™‚ I liuuuurve character interviews.

OMFG, you know I’ve been wondering what the hell people were referring to here for the past month or so with their ‘ships’. I was like…mkay, maybe they’re talking about characteristics (and was to lazy to Google it ^^) but COUPLES!!!! Thank you for clarifying that one! It’s hard catching up with the youngsters these days *breaths heavily*.

Every time I think of what I REALLY want to read, it’s your #9 and #10. Maybe when I’m on my break…:). I already bought both of them.

  3. This is such a great book tag! I totally feel you about villains; a good villain can make or break the story. As much as I despise Ramsay and Joffrey, I didn’t want them gone from the story simply because they added so much life to it. Just the act of hating them was an immersive experience. :3
